CLINTON PUBLIC SCHOOL
Character Education has always been a part of the Clinton Public School experience. As is written, "The mission of Clinton Public School is to inspire our students to become contributing members of society who are independent, innovative, life-time learners equipped with the necessary skills to meet the demands of our ever-changing world." Character Education fosters these skills building on and supporting the seeds you, the parents, have planted.
This year at Clinton Public School, we are continuing our Character Education program. Each month we will be promoting a positive character trait through classroom activities, inspirational bulletin boards, announcements, themed weeks, and incorporating all the wonderful lessons that are being taught at each grade level.
Here is an outline of the traits we will be focusing on throughout the school year:
In addition, as students are "caught in the act" of demonstrating a positive character trait, they will receive a Good Character Award. We hope that you will join us in promoting the monthly character traits. You may visit the Clinton Public School website for a list of resources and suggested activities for you and your family to work on together.

Week of Respect 2015
Do you share? Are you cooperative? Follow rules? Be a positive member in your community. Protect your environment.
Help others in need. Be kind & compassionate. Use encouraging words. If you see someone sitting alone invite them over. Be sure to express thanks.
Treat others in a way that shows you care. Deal peacefully with anger, insults & disagreements. Use good manners. Respect public property. Respect the rules in your community, school and home. Pay attention when others are talking.
Do what you are supposed to do. Persevere. Own it. If you make a mistake or use bad judgement, you own it, learn from it or correct it. Always do your best. Use self-control. Think before you act.
Are you a good sport? You take turns & share. Play by the rules. Listen to others.
Are you honest? Reliable? Have the courage to do the right thing. Be loyal. Build a reputation that you can be proud of.
